Rotating Outage Notification
Electronic Notification of System Emergencies
There are a number of vendors who now offer subscription services for telephone, e-mail, and/or pager notification of electricity system emergencies and rotating outages. California's Office of Emergency Services has published a list of vendors offering such services on the state's Emergency Digital Information Services Web Page.
These service providers are not under contract to SCE, but they use official information that SCE provides to the California Office of Emergency Services. If you choose to subscribe to any of these services, any agreement or contract will be between you, the subscriber, and the service provider. SCE does not endorse any vendor for these services.
Extreme Temperature Sensitivity
Persons with health conditions placing them at increased health risk when outdoor temperatures reach extreme levels can now receive advanced notification when rotating power outages are scheduled to impact their neighborhood.
Rotating Outage Cooling Stations
Individuals who are temperature sensitive may find it more comfortable to visit one of our "Cooling Stations" if rotating outages impact their residence. Cooling Stations offer air-conditioned facilities providing temporary relief from the extreme heat. Open to the public, these facilities are normally exempt from rotating outages. For more information, including locations, please visit our main Cooling Stations information page.
