Introduction:
A planned outage is a situation where an item of an electrical plant or a circuit has to be temporarily taken out of service for repair or to allow network alterations. Generally an outage of the type will be scheduled in advance and SCE will make affected customers aware of the outage details via the media or by leaflets delivered to the premises.
To ensure we deliver safe and reliable service, SCE may need to perform maintenance in your area. During these Planned Outages, we upgrade aging infrastructure or complete other repairs to make needed improvements. We realize a Planned Outage may cause some inconvenience, but it can prevent real problems in the future.
If a Planned Outage is scheduled for your area, SCE will notify you at least 3 calendar days before the maintenance begins. Please note that during a Planned Outage your power may not be off for the whole period, or may be turned off more than once over the time period indicated on your notice, and may not begin exactly at the stated start time. Some conditions may cause this planned outage to be postponed.
