Procurement of electric energy supplies through competitive solicitations

Energy Supply and Management ("ES&M") Department

SCE’s ES&M Department periodically conducts competitive solicitations for natural gas and wholesale electric energy supplies. Interested suppliers are encouraged to send their contact information to RFO@SCE.com so that they can be notified of upcoming solicitations. In addition, SCE’s Energy Supply and Management department negotiates enabling agreements with trading partners active in the energy markets.

Renewable and Alternative Power ("RAP") Department

SCE’s RAP Department periodically conducts competitive solicitations for renewable energy from Eligible Renewable Energy Resources (“ERRs”).

SCE's RAP Department issues its 2008 Request for Proposals (RFP) for renewable energy from ERRs.

 

SCE's Biomass Program
Information is available on SCE's Biomass Standard Contracts for electric power supply from biomass energy resource suppliers of 20 MW or less is available.



SCE's WATER and CREST Program
Information is available on SCE’s WATER and CREST Power Purchase Agreements for electric power supply from eligible renewable resources of 1.5 MW or less.




SCE's RFP for Independent Evaluators

Southern California Edison issues a Request for Proposals (RFP) for SCE’s Independent Evaluator (IE) Pool for 2009-2010. 




Procurement Review Group (PRG) Information

The Procurement Review Group (PRG) is an advisory group of eligible non-market participants with whom SCE consults on procurement related matters. The PRG reviews and assesses the details of SCE’s overall procurement strategy and specific proposed procurement contracts and processes, including Request for Offers (RFOs) prior to submitting filings to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).


Cost Allocation Mechanism (CAM) Group

The Cost Allocation Mechanism (CAM) Group is an advisory group established by the California Public Utilities Commission (Commission) in its Decision (D.) 07-12-052 with whom SCE consults on procurement activities for new generation resources. The benefits and costs of the new generation resources are allocated to all benefiting customers pursuant to the CAM adopted by the Commission in D.06-07-029. Entities eligible to become participants of this advisory group are the current participants of SCE’s Procurement Review Group (PRG), and non-market participant representatives of Direct Access (DA) customers and Community Choice Aggregator (CCA) customers.
