Meet some of our speakers...


Edward M. Arevalo
began his career with Edison in 1977, and is currently an account executive with the Customer Service Business Unit.  In his position, Ed develops and maintains customer relationships by providing customers with information and energy solutions related to their electrical service. His area of responsibility includes the preparation of proposals and business plans for more than 66 major company accounts totaling more than $29 million in energy use. During his tenure, he has worked as a meter reader and in other customer support areas.  As part of the Speakers' Bureau, Ed was awarded top speaker for three consecutive years for delivering the most total presentations in a year.

Jeffrey Washington joined SCE in 2000, and currently works in Human Resources as part of the Staffing & Assessment team.  Jeffrey has also worked in Public Affairs at SCE, where he provided administrative support to the region managers. In this role, he met with local government officials, attended city council meetings and helped to resolve frontline issues involving business and community matters.  Prior to joining the utility, Jeffrey served as a petty officer, second class in the U.S. Navy.  He is a member and officer of Toastmasters International.

Owen DeVance is a Human Resources consultant at SCE, and is responsible for developing and implementing new employee learning programs. With more than 20 years with the utility, Owen has worked in several areas including field service and customer support. Owen is an educator with many years of teaching experience, and in addition to his duties with SCE, he facilitates an independent study lab at Poly High School in Long Beach. Owen has worked as a volunteer for several political campaigns in the Southern California area.  Throughout his career at SCE, he has been involved with the Speaker’s Bureau.

Rudy Perez is a research and development manager within the Transmission and Distribution Unit of SCE, working on small-distributed generators. With more than 20 years at the utility, Rudy, has also worked in the areas of power generation and efficiency improvement, and has been responsible for contract compliance and inspections of more than 250 wind, solar, geothermal, biomass, cogeneration and hydroelectric power plants.
Additionally, Rudy brings 17 years of experience in the operation of large oil and gas-fired power plants. His expertise includes the areas of engineering, project management and efficiency improvement.

Philip Le Grand is an account manager with SCE, who began his career with the utility in 1982. In his current position, he is responsible for developing and maintaining customer relations with the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps by providing them with critical energy solutions. The Navy and Marine Corps make up one of the largest customers in Southern California with annual revenues totaling more than $25 million.  During his more than 20 years with SCE, Phil has worked in several different departments. His longest tenure has been with the customer service department specializing in the energy efficiency field.

Christine Elizabeth McLeod is a Project Manager in the Regulatory Policy and Affairs division of Southern California Edison. In her position, Christine is the Regulatory Representative on various new transmission and substation projects. She was previously a Public Affairs region manager responsible for cities in the San Gabriel valley, and has also worked as a legislative analyst in Edison’s Legislative and Local Government Affairs Department.


Jennetta Harris
has been with SCE for over 32 years, and is currently a Public Affairs region manager.  She represents the company as liaison and primary contact on regulatory, legislative and/or local government issues where impacts on company policies, revenues, facilities and operations can be challenged.  She is responsible for the cities of Claremont, Glendora, La Verne, San Dimas, and Pomona.  Jennetta’s community activities include work with the Inland Valley Economic Development Corp., the Boys and Girls Club of Pomona Valley, and the Pomona Valley Chapter American Red Cross. She also serves on several organizations’ Board of Directors.

Martin Ledwitz is the manager of air quality in the Environment, Health and Safety division of Southern California Edison. Employed with SCE since 1979, Martin heads the team responsible for air quality consulting, compliance, agency and coalition liaison, training and permitting. He is active in a number of environmental and military association chapters throughout Southern California. In October 2000, Martin was recognized by the South Coast Air Quality Management District with a “Clean Air Award” for good environmental stewardship.


George Williams
works as an environmental specialist with Southern California Edison, responsible for monitoring a variety of environmental compliance and legislative activities. He has certification in environmental compliance from Cal State University Fullerton, and a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Azusa Pacific University. George is near completion of a Master's in Public Administration from the University of La Verne. Before joining the utility, George served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. He is an active member of the Air and Waste Management Association, and volunteers his time as a Public Affairs Officer for the California State Military Reserve. George has six children and resides in Temecula with his wife, Carol.

Thanos Trezos is manager of environmental projects in Environmental Affairs. He is responsible for waste minimization programs, environmental compliance and spill prevention initiatives. A member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Thanos represents electric utility companies in developing industry standards for the environmental assessment of real estate. A member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Thanos represents electric utility companies in developing industry standards for the environmental assessment of real estate. He is also a member of Toastmasters International.
