CEC Renewable Trust Fund

 

Voluntary Contributions to the Renewable Energy Program
by the
California Energy Commission's (CEC)

The CEC Renewable Resource Trust Fund was organized to support the following state goals:

  • Existing Renewable Resources - supports market competition among in-state existing renewable electricity facilities through varying incentives.

  • New Renewable Resources - encourages prospective renewable electricity generation projects built in California through fixed production incentives.

  • Emerging Renewable Resources - stimulates renewable technology market growth by providing rebates to purchasers of on-site renewable energy generation. This program is now operated under the Energy Commission's New Solar Homes Partnership and the Public Utilities Commission's "California Solar Initiative".

  • Consumer Education - informs the public about the benefits and available choices of renewable energy technologies through information dissemination and project demonstrations.

      The CEC now allows voluntary contributions from Californians to help support the program. To contribute, write a check payable to:
