Environmental Commitment - Biological and Archaeological Resources Protection
Environmental Awareness Training
SCE’s Environmental Awareness Training Program reaches out to employees across its territory by scheduling awareness courses for field personnel, project planners, management, and other Edison employees as well as for its contractors with the potential to impact the environment. Each training session is specifically geared to be interactive and provide a forum to meet the Biological and Archaeological Resources Group staff.
Courses provide an overview of the laws and regulations pertaining to protection of biological and archaeological resources, a discussion of the consequences for noncompliance, an understanding of how to identify activities and situations that may have the potentiall to impact sensitive biological and cultural resources, and what to do if a sensitive resource is encountered on a project. It is updated and conducted annually to keep employees informed of recent changes in the environmental compliance regulatory atmosphere, presents scenarios that challenge environmental sensitivity knowledge and understanding, and offers an opportunity to ask questions regarding the past experiences.
