We reach out to develop and nurture strong relationships with local communities throughout our 50,000 square mile service area. These relationships serve as an important launch pad for sharing important information about energy conservation, opportunities to save money, safety around electricity, and other important topics.

With some of the nation's most diverse communities centered here in Southern California, we customize our outreach in a variety of languages and make use of numerous communications channels.

Outreach

The website you are reading is also provided in Spanish, Korean, Chinese and Vietnamese, and our call centers provide customer service in seven languages with translation services available in more than 150 additional languages. When storms and emergencies impact service, our media relations team works closely with ethnic media and issues press releases in languages such as Spanish, Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese.

Community Forums

In partnership with local non-profit and faith-based organizations throughout our 50,000-square mile service territory (PDF), SCE reaches out to underserved communities to share useful information on available services and programs. Typically, more than 200 people attend. Meet our team (PDF). Contact us to learn more.

Money-Saving Programs (Income-Qualified)

The SCE Resource Guide (PDF), also available in Spanish, helps link customers with community resources that can help, including programs to help income-qualified customers. The California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) program offers income-qualified customers a discount of 20% or more off their monthly electric bill. The Energy Savings Assistance Program pays for the cost of purchasing and installing energy efficient appliances and equipment for income-qualified customers.

Helping Schools, Institutions and Governments Save Energy and Money

We work closely with our region's schools, colleges, universities, and municipal and county governments to help them conserve energy and save money.

Speakers' Bureau

Presentations by SCE representatives are available at no cost to service clubs, schools, faith-based organizations, senior and consumer groups and business and professional organizations.

Our Mobile Energy Unit

Our Mobile Energy Unit (MEU) delivers useful information about energy efficiency throughout SCE's service territory. It showcases energy-saving and money-saving programs and services with hands-on interactive demonstrations. Are you interested in having the MEU at your community event? Learn more about the MEU.

Help for Customers In Need

Many Californians find themselves facing tough financial situations these days, and we are reaching out to help. The Energy Asssistance Fund grants up to $100 per year to help customers who cannot pay their electric bills. The grants are administered through 75 local United Way agencies. Most EAF grants are funded by our parent company, Edison International, and by the generosity of our employees. How can I qualify for an EAF grant? Many customers also donate to EAF.
