Meet Some of Our Speakers

Christine McLeod

Christine McLeodChristine McLeod is a project manager in Southern California Edison’s regulatory public affairs group. She is responsible for representing SCE on various project teams for new transmission and substation projects. Prior to her current role, Christine worked as a public affairs regional manger and as a corporate representative.

Christine received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science with a minor in English from the University of California at Irvine. She continues to further her education by taking post graduate courses at UCI and the University of California at Los Angeles.

Christine resides at her home in South Pasadena with her dog, Murphy, and her cat, McKitty. She enjoys spending time with her family and being an “Auntie” to her young nephews. In 2009, Christine was awarded as the 2009 top speaker for SCE’s Speakers’ Bureau

George Williams

George WilliamsGeorge Williams is an environmental specialist with Southern California Edison. He is responsible for monitoring a variety of environmental compliance activities.

Before joining Southern California Edison, George served just over 20 years in the United States Air Force. During his Air Force career, he was stationed overseas in Korea, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. George was in Saudi Arabia during the 1990 Iraqi invasion of Kuwait.

George received his certification in environmental compliance from the California State University at Fullerton, his bachelor’s degree in business organizational leadership from Azusa Pacific University, and his master's in public administration from the University of La Verne.

Martin Ledwitz

Martin LedwitzMartin Ledwitz is an air quality manager in the corporate environment, health and safety division of Southern California Edison. He is responsible for air quality consulting, compliance, agency and coalition liaison, training and permitting. In October 2000, he was recognized by the South Coast Air Quality Management District with a “Clean Air Award” for good environmental stewardship.

Before joining Southern California Edison, Martin served in the United States Air Force and Air Force Reserve and retired from federal service as a lieutenant colonel. Martin is an international ambassador for the Air & Waste Management Association, and has worked to add Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and India to the West Coast Section of A&WMA.

Martin received his bachelor’s degree in engineering Physics from New York University and his master’s degree in environmental engineering from Washington State University.

Rudy Perez

Rudy PerezRudy Perez is the Manager of SCE’s solar rooftop program, which will install 250 Megawatts of solar photovoltaic panels for Southern California Edison.

With more than 27 years at the utility, Rudy has worked as a research and development manager within the transmission and distribution Unit working with small distributed generators. Additionally, Rudy brings 17 years of experience in the operation of large oil and gas-fired power plants.

Rudy has earned undergraduate degrees in chemical engineering and economics from the University of Notre Dame, as well as an MBA from California State University, Long Beach. He also holds a professional mechanical engineer’s license.

Rudy was born in Havana, Cuba, and immigrated to the United States in 1960. He lives in Sierra Madre with his wife and has two small children.

Jennetta Harris

Jennetta HarrisJennetta Harris is a participant in Edison’s Future Leaders Program and assigned to audit services department. She is responsible for conducting audits to gain first-hand knowledge of the company’s internal control processes.

Before joining Southern California Edison, Jennetta worked as a public affairs manager, serving local communities on regulatory, legislative and government issues where impacts on company policies, revenues, facilities and operations were challenged.

Jennetta enjoys sharing with audiences the many facets and programs of Southern California Edison. She has given many presentations to youth groups and schools on electrical safety and careers to the history of SCE and alternate energy for the more mature audience. Having many years of experience in energy efficiency, Jennetta provides keen information in this area to help Edison customers save energy, save money and save the environment.

Connie Turner

Connie TurnerConnie Turner is a regional manager with Southern California Edison. She is responsible for legislative outreach for both city and state elected officials for the cities of Cerritos, Gardena, Lynwood, South Gate and Signal Hill.

Connie earned her bachelor’s in business administration from North Carolina A&T State University, and her master’s in business administration from National University in Irvine. She also holds certificates of completion from the University of California at Los Angeles in both executive management and managerial negotiations.

She lives in Lake Forest, and enjoys bicycling, walking, jogging and playing one-on-one basketball with her son.

Ronald Garcia

Ronald GarciaRonald Garcia is a regional public affairs manager with Southern California Edison. Ronald joined the utility 41 years ago working in field construction. In his current position, he serves the cities of Bell, Bell Gardens, Cudahy, Huntington Park, Maywood, Vernon, Walnut Park, and un-incorporated areas of Los Angeles County.

Ronald is a veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps. He is active in many civic, social, service, and youth activities. He has served as president of six chambers of commerce, was named Maywood businessman of the year in 1993, was the Los Angeles County/Hawaii region Boys and Girls Club of America volunteer of the year in 2002, and the Santa Paula Toastmaster’s 1983 winner of the California-Nevada Speech Contest.

Ron lives in Santa Paula, and has two daughters and six grandchildren.

Owen DeVance

Owen DeVanceOwen DeVance is a human resources consultant for Southern California Edison. He is responsible for developing and implementing new employee learning programs.

Prior to this role, Owen has worked in several areas, including field service and customer support, over the past 20 years. Owen facilitates an independent study lab at Poly High School in Long Beach. Owen is an educator with many years of teaching experience.

Owen received his master’s degree in political science from the California State University at Long Beach, as-well-as three teaching credentials.

Michael Lattimore

Michael LattimoreMichael Lattimore is an IT specialist engineer and Microsoft certified professional with Southern California Edison. As a founding member and consulting advisor to the Edison Anti-Vulnerability Emergency Response Team, he is responsible for security awareness programs for the SCE business units.

A professional associate of the National Speakers Association, Mike has also been a longtime member of the Edison Powerlines Toastmasters International club. Additionally, as a member of SCE’s speaker’s bureau, Mike has conducted internet safety seminars for high school students and community organizations, as well as home computer security workshops internally for a number of SCE business units.

Mike resides at his home in Altadena with his two daughters, has five grandsons, two grand-daughters and two dogs, Spike and Sophie.

Viet N. Tran

Viet N. TranViet N. Tran is a region manager for Southern California Edison. He joined the utility in 2004 and serves as the company’s public affairs liaison to the cities of Canyon Lake, Lake Elsinore, Murrieta, Temecula and Wildomar.

The son of Vietnamese immigrants, Viet is a graduate of the University of Southern California’s School of public administration. For over a decade, Viet has been involved in Rotary International. He became one of the Hawthorne Rotary Club’s youngest Paul Harris Fellows, served as Director of Youth Service, and was appointed to the Rotary International Task Force.

Viet enjoys learning new languages and is currently studying Italian, hoping to add it to his working use of Vietnamese and Spanish.
